Battle Plan
Battle Plan 59
July 18-25, 2021

Covid is menacing again. Our borders are more porous than ever. Schools are opening but seem unstable. Economically, we are bankrupt, and our leaders seem oblivious.

Endurance is required to complete our course. I would prefer to look away, forget the challenges, and ignore what is happening in our world. However, we are called by our Lord to this season. We are ambassadors. We do not choose the season in which we serve—we choose to be faithful.

2 Timothy 2:3 (NIV®)
3 Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

Galatians 6:9 (NIV®)
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Morning Proclamation

Psalm 27:1 (NIV®)
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation– whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life– of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 35:1-6 (NIV®)
1 Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.
2 Take up shield and buckler; arise and come to my aid.
3 Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”
4 May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame; may those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay.
5 May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them away;

6 may their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them.

Mid –Day Proclamation

Psalm 18:1-3 (NIV®)
1 I love you, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.

Psalm 121:1-8 (NIV®)
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills– where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip– he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you– the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm– he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Evening Prayer

Almighty God, forgive us for our unbelief and indifference. We humble ourselves and acknowledge You as the Creator and sustainer of all things. Now, open our hearts and our eyes that we may have understanding and insight from You. Deliver us from deception. Holy Spirit, teach us—we are listening, and we will follow. Give us now a boldness to believe, to serve, and to respond as never before. May the name of Jesus be lifted high, and may His people be strengthened. In Jesus’ name, amen.
