Spring is here, and soon it will be Easter! While we are all busy with life and preparations, I want to pause for a moment. Easter is about more than bunnies and colorful eggs. It’s a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ—who died on a cross, conquering sin and death, so we might experience new life and eternity with Him. I can think of very few things that are more honoring of our Lord than joining in that celebration!
So let’s pray for the many people who may hear the gospel for the first time at Easter services and for the name of Jesus to be exalted around the earth:
As the ground brings forth new life, we thank You for the promise of springtime in the earth and in our lives. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to rescue us and bring us new life. During this Easter season, we pray the Spirit of God would be poured out in fresh ways upon us, and we would see many hearts and lives changed, including our own.
Thank You for the great honor, freedom, and privilege it is to celebrate Jesus without fear of reprisal or intimidation. We pray for Jesus’ name to be lifted high in all the churches in our community, in our state, in our nation, and around the earth. We pray for our brothers and sisters who live in places where there’s pressure, resistance, and opposition against those who gather in Your name. Send Your angels to protect Your people and open doors of opportunity, that Your Kingdom will gain momentum in every corner of the earth. May the name of Jesus be exalted and Your Kingdom extended in this Easter season.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Jesus is alive, and we can’t wait to worship with you at our Easter services in person or online!
