Please join me in praying for those who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene’s storm surges, torrential rain, heavy winds, tornadoes, and flooding that spread across the Southeast as the storm traveled. While we are safe and currently have power here in Murfreesboro, more than four million people are without electricity across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. With rain in the forecast throughout the weekend, flooding continues to be a very real threat across this region.
Let’s pray:
Heavenly Father,
We pray for those who have been affected by Hurricane Helene. We ask You to intervene. Where resources and supplies are needed, may they be delivered in abundance. For those who have lost much, we pray You would comfort them—that there would be an encouragement that would begin in their heart that is greater than any loss they have experienced. Lord, protect the lives, homes, and property of those who continue to be in the path of this storm. Across the Southeast, stop the flooding, strengthen the dams, and make a way for electricity and water to be restored. Protect the first responders and those who bravely face the elements to help those in need. Lord, we acknowledge that only You can secure our future, and You are well able. You are Lord of all. You command the wind and the waves, and we praise You for Your help and protection today.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Our prayers make a difference. They invite God in the midst of a circumstance, and He will be faithful to respond. Let’s continue to keep those in the Southeast in our prayers until this storm subsides and its impacts resolve.
