Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.” — Psalm 122:6
In case you haven’t heard, last night Israel struck Iran’s nuclear facilities as well as some key military leaders. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said they plan to continue to attack Iran’s nuclear program “for as many days as it takes to remove this threat.” Iran retaliated and threatens there’s more to come. It’s a critical time to be praying for Israel.
Let’s Pray:
Heavenly Father,
We pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the land and people of Israel. Send Your angels to stand guard around them. Protect them. Give them Your peace, which surpasses understanding, and draw their hearts to Your Son, Jesus, in a personal and life-changing way. As they navigate what’s ahead, give their leaders wisdom beyond their experience and beyond the information available to them. Help them make decisions that are guided by Your Spirit. Turn back and silence their enemies. May the schemes and plots that have been leveled against Your people fail, and may those who have dug pits with them in mind fall into it them themselves. Lord, we also pray for our nation. May our leaders make decisions regarding our friend, Israel, that bring your blessings. Thank You for Your faithfulness to us and the people of Israel.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
