One of the most stabilizing things we can do in the midst of seasons of change is to cultivate thankfulness. Being thankful and offering public expressions of gratitude is a commandment in Scripture. It has very little to do with emotion, and everything to do with obedience. Let’s give thanks:
Heavenly Father,
We lift our hearts in thanksgiving to You, for You are our Creator and the One who gives us breath. We thank You for the great blessings You have poured out upon us and our nation. Lord, only You could have brought the abundance, and the opportunity, and all of the things that have contributed to our lives. You are worthy of all honor and glory. Thank You for Your great love for us—for all You have done and for all that is yet ahead. You have rescued us from an empty way of life, and You have prepared a future for us. Thank you for keeping us, and for giving us the strength we need for this day. Help us to press on to complete the course for which You created us.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Thankfulness invites the supernatural power of God into our lives and aligns us with the Spirit of God. As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, let’s determine to give thanks each day and cultivate gratitude within our hearts. These simple habits will bring benefits to us as we open ourselves more fully to God’s grace and His involvement in our lives.
Onward in Him,
