The Christian’s calling to be the conscience of culture
How would the world change if Christians took a biblical worldview into the world with the same passion protestors have for making their viewpoints known? How can Christ-followers develop the courage muscles to stand up to criticism and pushback against a biblical worldview?
Pastor Allen discussed these topics and his newest book, Lead with Faith: Using Your Influence for God’s Purposes, while a guest on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins. The March 20 show can be viewed here.
Perkins and Pastor Allen discussed the implications of the January 18 disruption of a Minneapolis church service by anti-ICE protestors and the example of leading with faith displayed by Congressman Michael Cloud (R-Texas) when he publicly cited full Scripture passages during testimony about fraud in Minnesota social service programs earlier in March.
Cultivating the courage to lead with faith is like working any other muscle, Pastor Allen stated, and will come with some discomfort. However, he said that shouldn’t deter people from sharing their God-stories and walking through life with an enthusiasm for God. “If you go to work and the people there don’t know you’re a Christ-follower,” he said,” you are deceitful. It’s not about being judgmental; it’s about bringing the joy of our faith wherever we go.”
