Our prayers can change the course of nations, and we saw evidence of God moving in the public square on June 24, when the Supreme Court had the courage to protect the lives of unborn children by overturning Roe V. Wade.
On this Independence Day, we have much to celebrate, and I want to be on the record for saying that I believe God has blessed our nation. We are a remarkable country with an exceptional story—an experiment in self-government that’s unlike anything the world has ever known.
Let’s take a moment to pray for our leaders:
Almighty God,
You raise up leaders and You bring them down. We ask you to raise up godly leaders throughout our nation. Bring forth men and women who have cultivated godly character and the ability to lead. May their voices be heard and may we have the courage to stand with them. Silence those who lead on destructive paths. Let the fear of God increase in our churches, schools, universities, courtrooms, legislative halls, and the White House. We turn from our sins and rebellion. Look upon us with mercy. Our hope is you. You, and you alone, secure our future.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
America works well as long as we hold to a biblical worldview—but apart from that, our government is unsustainable. If we will repent and return to our biblical foundations, God will bless our nation again. Let the Supreme Court’s decision encourage you—the voices and prayers of God’s people make a difference.
Onward in Him,
Pastor Allen Jackson
