We have a wonderful opportunity to bring Jesus back into the midst of our holidays this year. Instead of dwelling on the darkness at play around us, let’s keep our eyes and ears alert for a move of God’s Spirit that exceeds anything we’ve known.
Here are some of the miraculous things we’re looking for:
- For the Kingdom of God to be extended, and for open doorways to proclaim the name of Jesus.
- For hearts to be opened, and for windows of opportunity to share our faith with people we live with, and work with, and others who are in our daily lives.
- For us to have the courage and the boldness to say, “Let me tell you what Jesus has done for me.”
Let’s pray that this holiday season, Jesus’ name will be lifted up in a new way, doors will be opened, and hearts will be transformed.
Heavenly Father, may our attention be turned to You. Give us the discernment to see the things You are doing on our behalf and to recognize how the Spirit of God is moving around us. Thank You that the harvest fields are white. We offer ourselves today as living sacrifices to stand in those fields as ambassadors for You. Help us declare the good news that Jesus of Nazareth has paid the price so that everyone can be free of sin, and guilt, and shame, and that they can be delivered from addictions and the bondage of darkness and despair. Lord, may Your Kingdom be extended, and the name of Jesus be lifted up this holiday season. We praise You for it! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Our life assignment from our Creator is to tell the good news in our generation. It’s not just about witnessing, but about leading our lives so that the principles of the Kingdom of God are on display in our choices. I have great hope that with the power of God within us, we will all rise to this assignment. Then, let’s watch for God’s response, and celebrate His work on our behalf.
Onward in Him,
Pastor Allen Jackson
