November 7-13, 2021It is the beginning of a season of holidays. Let’s make this holiday season more Jesus-centered. He is worthy of our attention and thought.
For the next few days begin to make thankfulness part of your daily conversation. Replace your language of frustration and agitation with statements of gratitude.
We choose the direction of our thoughts and words.
Philippians 4:6-8 (NIV®)
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach us to walk in Your ways. We turn to You in humility; we do not want to be wise in our own eyes. We turn away from evil — our desire is to be clean and pure before you. May the eyes of our understanding be enlightened. Give us wisdom for this season that we might accomplish all You created us for. Teach us Your ways, establish us in Your truth, and lead us in paths of righteousness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Mid-Day Prayer
Heavenly Father,
16 We pray that out of Your glorious riches You may strengthen us with power through Your Spirit in our inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. And we pray that we might be rooted and established in love, 18 having the power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Evening Prayer
Heavenly Father, I rejoice today in the joy of my salvation. Your Word brings light and life to me. Holy Spirit, direct my steps, illumine my mind, and reveal God’s wisdom to me. My hope is anchored in the victory of my Lord and Savior, Jesus of Nazareth. Through my days on this Earth, may His name be exalted, and His Kingdom extended, amen.
