October 24-31, 2021
Our nation has a rich heritage of Christianity. The blessings of God have shaped our lives.
Our current choices will shape the generation ahead. Faith and faithfulness must be established in each generation. We must choose what/whom we will serve.
This is not a new dilemma; it is a predictable as the change of seasons. Joshua recognized this reality and challenged his generation:
Joshua 24:14-15 (NIV®)
14 “Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.“
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, we have gathered in Your name because in You there is hope. You are a God of great mercy and compassion, a God who restores and renews. We are a people in great need. We have turned our backs on truth and justice. We have walked in pride and rebellion. Forgive our sins — pour out upon us a spirit of humility and repentance. May the Fear of God wash over our hearts and minds. Our hope is in the name of our Lord. May Jesus be honored in this generation, amen.
Mid-day Prayer
Heavenly Father, we humble ourselves before You today to acknowledge You as the Creator of all things. You have made us — we are the sheep of Your pasture. Through Your truth we have found freedom. You have given us a home in a place of liberty. Give us the wisdom to maintain what has been entrusted to us. Let the darkness be pushed back and the light break forth in this season. Awaken Your people in this generation. You are our Hope and our great Redeemer. Let the name of Jesus be exalted and all who oppose Him stumble — in Jesus’ name, amen.
Evening Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You in humility. We have wandered from Your truth. We have become comfortable with deception and darkness. Our attention has been turned to our own ambition. We have valued convenience more than obedience. Forgive us our sins. Soften our hearts once again. Open our ears to hear Your direction. Bring a spirit of conviction to our lives. We lift our voices to You, for only You can bring salvation to our lives. You are a faithful God, a God of mercy and truth. We choose to yield to You. In Jesus name, amen.
