Morning Prayers
Bitterness/Unforgiveness vs Forgiveness
Prayer of Preparation
Heavenly Father, thank You for showing great mercy and kindness to me. You have made provision that all my sins may be forgiven and that I might be righteous before You. I confess, I have not extended that same grace to others—I have held onto the offense, refusing to extend kindness, mercy, and forgiveness. Please bring to my mind anyone I need to forgive that I may do so. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Prayer of Forgiveness
Almighty God, I choose to forgive _______________________ for all that happened to me and others. I have felt ___________________________. I release them, I cancel the debt, and entrust them to Your loving care. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Follow Up
Lord Jesus, I choose to release all resentment, bitterness and rage. I relinquish all of my rights to seek revenge or the desire to see others suffer as I have. I ask You to heal the brokenness within me. I rejoice in my freedom from bitterness and anger. Bless those who have cursed me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Evening Prayers
Pride vs Humility
Prayer of Preparation
Heavenly Father, You have told us to trust in You with all our heart. You have cautioned that pride goes before destruction and arrogance precedes stumbling. I confess that I have often ignored Your counsel and imagined my strength was sufficient, my training was adequate, my determination would create the desired outcome. I have placed my will above Yours, and I have sought my way before accepting Yours. I confess my sin, my pride, and my selfishness. I pray that all ground gained in my life by enemies of the Lord Jesus Christ would be canceled as I repent and overcome these expressions of my carnal nature. Holy Spirit, examine my heart and help me to see the ways I have lived pridefully. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
Prayer of Application
Almighty God, I acknowledge that I have been proud of _____________________. I rejoice in Your forgiveness. I choose to humble myself before You and others. I choose to place my confidence in Your great power and not in my strength. In Jesus’ name, amen.
