Until you apply biblical truths to your actual life, they remain a theory. It’s like leaving medicine in a bottle, or having a computer that you don’t turn on, or a book you don’t read. When you give application to the Word of God, you will benefit from its principles, authority, and truth.

Here’s an easy way to apply this principle today: Start the new year by proclaiming God’s truth over your life as you read the proclamation below aloud. You can also download a printable copy by clicking here.

I’m grateful to the One who called me out of darkness—the God who extended to me a gift of righteousness. He set me free from the law of sin and death and brought me into the Kingdom of the Son He loves. I’ve been sanctified, justified, declared righteous. (1 Peter 2:9; 1 Corinthians 6:11)

I may face challenges, difficulties, and even enormous threats from adversaries, but the One who called me is faithful. When I walk through a shadowed valley, He is with me. His rod and His staff—they comfort me and protect me. I am not afraid. I am filled with courage. (1 Thessalonians 5:24; Psalm 23:4)

I’m determined to keep my attention on Jesus, my Lord, Savior, and King. He is the Author and the Completer of my story. He is a Defender of the weak, and He determines the justice in my life. He is my Healer. He is my complete provision. (Hebrews 12:2; Jeremiah 17:14; Psalm 18:1-2)

The Holy Spirit is my Helper. He guides my steps. He reminds me of what I need to know. He reveals to me what is hidden in the darkness. The Spirit of God has empowered me, providing direction for my journey through time. (John 14:26; Ephesians 3:16)

I stand as an ambassador for the eternal Kingdom of the Lord of all lords, the King of all kings. The living One, who holds the keys of death and Hades. My reward is established in Christ Jesus. It is not subject to rust, deterioration, or devaluation, and it is available to all who long for His appearance. (Revelation 1:18; Matthew 6:19)

I will persevere. I will overcome. I will complete my course in the strength of the One who called me. I will stand in the day of evil and, having done everything I know, I will stand. The decision has been made. My will has been expressed. As for me and my household—we will serve the Lord. (Ephesians 6:13; Joshua 25:15)

Let’s make this a new year of seeking the Lord!
