Let's Pray

I’ve been encouraging you for many months now to watch, listen, think, and be prepared to act. There’s a revolution afoot, and the outcome is not clear just yet. I’m not frightened, because I think the determining factor will be the people of God. I believe if we will humble ourselves, and pray, and seek the Lord, He can bring healing to us, as a people. We don’t want to respond in anger, or hostility, or criticism—we’re not pointing a finger at anybody else. I think our hearts are really the battleground, and what happens within us.

Let’s Pray:

Heavenly Father,

We’re a nation in need of healing. Lord, we don’t look to anyone else, but we come in humility before You to say that we need healing in our own hearts. Change us. By Your Spirit, search us. Help us to see those places in us that are unpleasing to You and that separate us from Your best. May we have the courage to address them and to say no to ungodliness.

Give us boldness, that we will be willing to stand for Jesus of Nazareth in the public square. Forgive us for our indifference. Forgive us for the ambivalence that has led us to be silent, or to look the other way, or to refuse to stand. Awaken Your people. Let there be a new anointing upon us—an anointing to recognize the mercy, and the grace, and the goodness of God, so our children and grandchildren might know liberty, and freedom, and opportunity. We thank you for it today.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

If the hearts of God’s people determine the outcome of the turmoil we’re walking through, that’s a place of empowerment, not diminishment. Scripture says God is able to save “by many or by few,” so don’t be filled with dismay. Instead, let’s determine to purify our hearts and stand for God’s Truth — Then see what He will do!

Onward in Him,

Pastor Allen Jackson
