Today, my mom graduated to Heaven. It’s been nearly sixty years since she was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer and was given six months to live. God miraculously healed her, and it changed the course of our lives.
From that point forward, my parents devoted their lives to knowing God and telling the people around them about Jesus. My dad had her by his side as they reared three boys, grew and operated their veterinary practice, ministered in Israel, and continuously told people about Jesus. My brothers and I were able to grow up under the love and faithful direction of our birth mother. From our little town in Middle Tennessee, she and my dad continually said “yes” to the Lord, building a legacy of faith that now impacts millions of people, every day. We thank God for her life of service for the Kingdom. Now it’s our turn to carry the torch.
You can read her obituary here. Visitation will be held at World Outreach Church on Wednesday, July 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in Three Crosses Sanctuary. A memorial service will be held at the church on Thursday, July 18, at 10:00 am, also in Three Crosses Sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, our family has requested donations be made to the Miss Betty Jackson Memorial Fund at World Outreach Church and The Church Next Door in Columbus, Ohio, to establish memorial prayer gardens, extending “Miss Betty’s” legacy of prayer.
