I encourage you to become familiar with the Apostles’ Creed, one of the oldest creedal statements in the Christian church. It served as an easy-to-memorize checklist for the early believers. They recognized that if you could break the Creed and insert errant ideas into it, it could destroy the Church. We see that happening today. Some rather significant bodies of Christians are rewriting the Creed to try to fit it in with current culture, and that’s a very destructive thing to do.
Watch this video, and I’ll tell you more:
You’ll find the Apostles’ Creed below. It’s a wonderful summary of the tenants of the Christian faith, and it serves as the foundation of our ministry. Put it in your phone or someplace you see often. Even better, memorize it.
In a world that’s becoming increasingly absurd, we need stability that can only come from God. Tucking the Apostles’ Creed into your heart will remind you of the essentials of our faith, protect you from deception, and keep you focused on truth as you navigate what’s ahead.
Onward in Him,
Pastor Allen Jackson
Apostles’ Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into Hades; the third day He rose again from the dead: He ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
