Please join me in praying for those who have been impacted by Hurricane Idalia. From the Florida Gulf Coast all the way up through North Carolina, thousands of people are encountering true hardship—emergency rescues, destroyed homes, and more than 300,000 are still without power.
Let’s pray:
Heavenly Father,
We pray for those who have been affected by Hurricane Idalia. We ask You to intervene. Where resources and supplies are needed, let nothing impede them—may they be delivered in abundance. Where there are needs that have been overlooked, bring them to the attention of those who can bring resolution. For those who have lost much, we pray You would comfort them—that there would be an encouragement that would begin in their heart that is greater than any loss they have experienced. Lord, only You can secure our future, and You are well able. We acknowledge that You are Lord of all—Lord of our hearts, Lord of our lives, and Lord of our nation. Establish us, help us, and keep us. We praise You for your faithfulness today.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
In difficult circumstances like these, it’s helpful to read Psalm 124 and consider the promises it holds. It says, “If the Lord had not been on our side … the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away. … Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (Psalm 124:1, 4, 8 NIV®)
God is on our side, and we live under His protection. He’s the One who watches over us, and He is the One who helps us. Isn’t that good to know?
