Morning Prayer & Proclamation
Psalm 25:4–9 (NIV84®)
4 Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths;
5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
6 Remember, O Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me, for you are good, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.
Mid-Day Prayer
Luke 15:20-24 (NIV®)
20 So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
Heavenly Father,
We have lived as the prodigal. We demanded our inheritance—our blessings—and we have lived recklessly. Forgive us for ignoring Your truth while pretending to be obedient. We repent and choose a new path. We choose to follow, to wait, to persevere, to overcome … we choose to be content—in Jesus. Holy Spirit, help us to understand the glorious riches of Christ. Amen.
Evening Prayer
1 Peter 2:9-10 (NIV®)
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Almighty God,
You have called us out of darkness. You have established us in righteousness. You have sanctified us. Forgive us for grumbling about the difficulty of the journey and failing to believe in Your great strength. We repent of our stubborn unbelief. We choose to follow You with our whole heart! We will not stop, we will not turn aside, we will not forget—You have shed Your grace upon us; Your mercies are new every morning. Holy Spirit, sustain us; open our hearts to receive a revelation of our Lord and King. Let Jesus’ name be exalted throughout the earth. Amen.
