September 12-18, 2021
September 11, 2001, is a poignant reminder of our vulnerability. For a few short weeks, we stood together as a nation, unified in our resolve to overcome. The outcomes were remarkable.
We need to choose to stand together now. It is the only way to triumph over the current challenges. Too many voices and perspectives are clamoring for approval. Division and resentment are the forerunners of destruction.
The Church is uniquely positioned to foster unity. We stand under the authority of Jesus of Nazareth, first and foremost. We are Christ-followers first! We cannot allow carnality to foster division. Pray that God’s people will unite in our faith and lead the journey to healing.
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach us to love Your truth. Grant us a revelation — insight into Your eternal truth that we might walk in righteousness. Forgive us when we have chosen deception and dishonesty. I choose to separate myself from all falsehood. I want to be a person who walks uprightly before You, in truth and integrity. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Mid-Day Prayer
Heavenly Father, forgive us for ignoring Your counsel and choosing our own way. We have turned our backs on Your goodness and abundant blessings. We have chosen pride and indulgence over righteousness and purity. We humble ourselves today in repentance, asking for mercy. We are a nation in need of healing. Only Almighty God can restore our fortunes. We cry out to You today for mercy. We do not blame others for our circumstances; we have walked this path. This day, we acknowledge Almighty God as the Judge of all the earth. May the name of Jesus of Nazareth be lifted up in our homes, our city, our state, and our nation. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Evening Prayer
Almighty God, You are delivering us and making a new way before us. We rejoice in Your faithfulness and the display of Your grace and mercy. You reached out and lifted us up when the flood of devastation was approaching. We acknowledge You and rejoice in Your faithfulness. Now open the pathways to begin again. Fill us with a determination to honor You in the season ahead. May the spirit of confusion be broken and clarity of purpose settle upon Your people. Open doors for the proclamation of Your truth unlike any we have ever witnessed. Pour out Your Spirit upon us. Reach out Your hand to heal, deliver, and restore — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
