It’s important to thank God for the military members who laid down their lives, that we might live in freedom. We also owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to those who have stood on the frontlines for us for more than 200 years.
This Memorial Day weekend, let’s pray for these men and women, their families, and those in authority over them:
Heavenly Father,
I thank You for our nation. I believe You called us into existence. You alone have kept us, and we thank You for it.
On this particular weekend, we thank You for those who have stood watch on our behalf. Lord, they’ve left homes and families. They’ve traveled, and endured, and put themselves in harm’s way, so we might know liberty and freedom for all. I thank You for their lives. Bless and protect their families, who have sacrificed so much.
For those who are leading us today, I pray You’ll give them wisdom far beyond themselves and their experience. Give them the desire to be men and women of integrity and character, who fear Your name, and who honor Your Word. Give them the courage and discernment to turn away from deception and to follow Your Truth.
Thank you, Lord, for our nation. We ask for Your continued hand of protection and provision over us, and all who serve.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Our prayers make a difference in the outcomes of history. God has, can, and will continue to adjust our nation’s course, as His people humble themselves and pray.
Onward in Him,
Pastor Allen Jackson
