When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan. —Proverbs 29:2 (NIV®)
As Americans, we are blessed to live in a time and place where we can choose our leaders. We may not always fully agree with the options we have, but we do have the opportunity—and the privilege—to apply our biblical worldview to vote for the candidates whose stated goals most closely align with our own.
Let’s pray for tomorrow’s election:
Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing us to stand in this time and place as representatives of Your Kingdom. We ask You to watch over this election and its results. Help them to be fair and honest, and allow Your light to shine on any attempts at deception. Remove any obstacles to Your people voting, and give us wisdom as we make our choices. Help us to choose men and women who will honor Your name and fulfill Your purposes. In Jesus’ name, amen.
If God’s people do not exercise our right to choose the best available candidates, we will find ourselves being ruled by those who the Bible calls wicked. Pray for the candidates. Pray for Christians to honor their civic responsibility and biblical worldview in voting. Then, be sure to take yourself to the polls to cast your vote!
