Happy Thanksgiving!

Let’s give thanks to the Lord for the many ways He has provided for us, and for the circumstances He has faithfully led us through this year. Here are a few Psalms to pray though this Thanksgiving by yourself, or with a group at your table:

Psalm 95:1-7 (NIV®)
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

Psalm 100:1-5 (NIV®)
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Psalm 136:1-11, 23-26 (NIV®)
This great to read as a responsive psalm. The leader reads the first part of each scripture, and the rest of the group responds, “His love endures forever.”

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords. His love endures forever.
To him who alone does great wonders; His love endures forever.
Who by his understanding made the heavens; His love endures forever.
Who spread out the earth upon the waters; His love endures forever.
Who made the great lights; His love endures forever.
The sun to govern the day; His love endures forever.
The moon and stars to govern the night; His love endures forever.
To him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt; His love endures forever.
And brought Israel out from among them; His love endures forever.
To the One who remembered us in our low estate; His love endures forever.
And freed us from our enemies; His love endures forever.
And who gives food to every creature; His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.
