When we’re struggling with an illness or an injury, it helps if we can get to the root of what is causing the problem. The same is true for spiritual issues as well—we need to get to the root cause. Well, the root of worry is fear, but there’s great news: The Bible tells us there is an antidote to fear!

How do we develop the kind of trust in the Lord that shuts down worry? The best way I know how is to spend time in God’s Word. Learning about God’s character—His limitless power, the covenants and promises He’s made and kept, His faithfulness to our biblical heroes—will help you see that you can trust Him with whatever you are facing, too. Here are some passages to get you started:
Deuteronomy 7:9 1 Samuel 17:45–50
Get out your Bible and read about God’s faithfulness to Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Daniel, and all our other heroes of faith. Their stories will increase your trust in the power of God to work in your life, too!
